Revolution Team Rider Jeremy Spira flew out to New York City for the Last Man Standing Competition 2009. The real street competition went down at the Legendary Brooklyn Banks in NY. Here is what Spira had to say about his trip.
“I recently took some time out of my busy schedule to hit up New York’s Last Man Standing competition. I met up with Adam Killgore, Montre Livingston, and Brian Shima who happened to be staying in Manhattan with skating legend John Ortiz. Getting around NYC is a bit different than your average city USA. Skating from spot to spot is the usual. Overall, I’d say I got in a good twenty miles of skating throughout the weekend.”

“The spots are legendary and you can’t skate past a block without seeing something dope and unique to get deals. The vibe in NY is unique and it’s the only place in the country where during any given skate session during the weekend you may run into at least 4 different blader crews just blading around the city. While roaming the city with Shima random people would approach us and say “are you Brian Shima??” because they blade or used to at one time, including one security guard at a sweet bank to ledge spot.
LMS went off and hundreds of kids showed up. Everywhere you looked you could see legends and pros killing it. You could almost say it was chaos to have all that talent and it accumulated to a near pitch-black final round at a gap to grind box set up that was scary to even watch.”

“Overall, the weekend was a great time. I enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with old friends and return to the city of my birth. We even got lots of deals for the up-coming Nimh video so keep an eye out for that!” – Jeremy Spira
